Out of exercise mode? These cardio-interval workouts from Chicago-based personal trainer Michelle Rossfeld will help you take off the pounds the easy way. Short bursts of moderate- to high-intensity activity make a workout feel easier than doing the same routine at a continuous pace, according to a new study published in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise. Do 4 or 5 of the following routines a week; coupled with the Start Fresh Diet Plan, they’ll help you kiss up to 2 1⁄2 pounds per week goodbye.
Walk at a comfortable pace for 2 minutes, then power-walk at your fastest speed for 1 minute; repeat for 45 minutes.
Jog at an easy pace for 2 minutes, then run at your all-out pace for 1 minute; repeat for 30 minutes.
On a treadmill, walk at a 5 percent incline for 2 minutes, then bump it up to a 12 percent incline for 1 minute; repeat for 45 minutes.
On an elliptical trainer, walk at a 4 percent incline at 120–130 strides per minute for 2 minutes, then increase to 180–190 strides per minute for 1 minute; repeat for 45 minutes.
Sprint up stadium steps, walk down, then walk at regular pace for 4 minutes; repeat 6–8 times.
Bike at a comfortable pace for 2 minutes, then speed-pedal for 1 minute; repeat for 45 minutes.
Tip: Always warm up and cool down for at least 5 minutes before and after sessions.

Start off with two sets of 10 reps of the dumbbell shoulder press and dumbbell front raise. Then, hop over and do two sets of eight reps of the accelerated side raise. Finish off with two sets of eight reps of the cable reverse fly and dumbbell Cuban press. Keep your rest times between sets short, around 30-45 seconds. Perform this routine once a week, right after your chest workout.

Stay away from foods that are not good for you or have very little nutritional value. Drink lots of water, water helps you loose weight.

I had a hemerogic stroke last summer. I had been trying to loose about 25 lbs the month before. I did tredmill about 30 mn. aday and helped my husband cut trees and clear our property of downed timber for about a month. I became frustrated when the lbs didn’t come off. However when I was in the hospital recovering I dropped 35lbs. It finally caught up with me. When I got out of the hospital my appetite was enormous and I gained all the weight plus more back.
My problem is that I don’t have the stamina to do the exercises even though my doctor has cleared me to get back into a routine.
I want to loose at least 20 lbs by July. Our youngest daughter is getting married and I want to beable to get a great dress and look great in it.
Any help on what I can do?
Sounds like you may be iron deficient since you’re eating ice. Ask your doctor to do some blood tests and see what’s going on.
my problem is that I cannot due regular exercise due to health issues. I have lower back pain, hip and leg pain, 1 lung which prevents me from normal breathing, diabetes, leg cramping. I asm 68 and 80 lbs overweight and hate it. I have no energy,m am lethargic and cannot do anything for long. I cannot find help. I do eat healthy most of the time. Sometimes it takes me 2 days to drink a bottle of diet pepsi. Also my stomach is ultra sensitive and water will not stay down unless it is this side of frozen. I also eat tons of ice.
